Kawasaki were always known for good power in their 2 strokes. I had a 97 KX250 and a KX 125. Both were great bikes. The 250 was hard to keep the front tire on the ground. I can’t imagine riding that 500. Very cool! Brings back some memories of some nice bikes.

Man I miss the old 2 stroke days, used to have RMX250 then 94 YZ250, all my friends had something so I got to ride pretty much everything from KTM/Husky to CR and KX 500s, YZ and WR 490, the sounds and the smell of racing gas with oil in it. Good old days, now I putt around on my XR650L

Nothing compares to 2 stroke power. Just the way it feels brings goosebumps, and when the power comes on, they are incomparable !
I remember when Yamaha came out with the first four-stroke open class bikes, and everyone was telling me how awesome they were. I knew then that there was no way that they had built a four-stroke engine that could compete with a two-stroke, even if you give the 4 an extra 200cc's. And I was right, they can't keep up.
