Froome was the most dominant rider of the 2010s. He had a stranglehold on the TDF, won the Vuelta and took the Giro in what has to be one of the most spectacular single breakaways of all time. To emerge from the severe crash that he did and still be able to finish a grand tour is beyond human. This man deserves his flowers and then some before he retires

Edit: Clearly by the amount of responses this post has garnered, Froome has had an indelible impact on the cycling fraternity. Amidst the myriad of opnions, it's great to see that there are so many passionate cycling fans. Let this sport never die a death and unequivocally, Chris Froome deserves his flowers! Cheers 😃

I got goosebumps from watching this. As a young kid, I watched the grand tours with my Grandpa. Unfortunately, like Froome, his health declined. Seeing, and recognising all of those nostalgic shots of Froome really reminded me of my Grandpa when he was in his good health. RIP Grandpa Eric ❤

Chris Froom and Peter Sagan are my 2 favorite riders.

It's crazy to think about how pro cycling works. Froome used to dominate tdf, this guy got 7 grand tour wins but now he finishes the tour with about 100th place...meanwhile his former teammate G got 3rd place in tdf last year and nearly win the giro this year, just an unfortunate crash could change their career forever

He is amazing and Froom vs Quintana on tdf was incredible

Didn’t plan on crying today… had the privilege of riding with him a few times, always humble, always kind and an absolute beast. One of the greats.

I started watching cycling after the TDF 2012. Froome has given us so many incredible moments in cycling.

The descent in this video, attacking with Sagan in the green jersey and sprinting against him, the running up Ventoux, THAT attack in the Giro - and then supporting G 100% in the tour that he won. Going above and beyond to support those that have supported him.

I’d love to see him come back to the tour and be up there - but his legacy is incredible.

An absolute legend of the sport. He got me into the Tour de France, my dad always watched it, the first one I watched was Wiggins, but I noticed that Froome was the one doing all the work for him. Was so happy when he finally won it for himself and then became dominant!

You should have put when he was also running in the middle of the crowd during the Tour de France

It's wild watching the physical toll this sport takes on riders. Eventually, the body simply can't do the same things it was able to do before. Bittersweet, for sure but knowing the incredible things these men have given themselves and the fans is huge. Froome had his time, the torch has been passed. We watched that happen with Cavendish today. We're seeing it happen with Sagan. Now we have new legends tomorrow root for, all of whom stand upon the shoulders of these giants before them. Chapeau.
