Motor Replacement on a John Deere Gator Ride On Toy Peg Perego

Prolly the worst tutorial for this, but I do give an overview of where the motors are and how to get to them. The replacement was super easy, start with the push pins on the bed, then pry up the motor covers and the motors just bolt on with some phillips screws.

How did you speed it up or slow it down?

I don't think that is correct about 1 motor working on low gear and both motors working on high gear. If that's the case then something is wrong with the switch, because the contacts are always working in pairs. Sounds like a bad switch.
