How can we participate in the Open Call? By the way, always incredible how Bjarke find ways of helping the society using the architecture, very inspiring!

I am a native New Yorker who grew up in NYCHA projects, and other affordable housing apartments… we don’t live in “huts”. That’s demeaning as a describer. Secondly, all affordable housing is not ugly, untasteful. There were other architects with the same goals as Bjarke who created brutalist architecture in the Bronx, the grand concourse was a full luxury complex system that is now the hood (and I love it). They have the beauty.. no body is complaining about that…. What affordable housing needs is upkeep and security which Is a property tax issue. Who cares how affordable it’s built, the people who move in won’t get the same level of community care, that a person from a high middle class neighborhood (think upper east side) would get. THAT is the problem that needs solving. If it’s upkept, it’ll look just as beautiful as it was designed.

Now is there projects in other areas that look like cubes made for people to move into quickly, and make a community where they can eliminate each other through, drugs, alcohol, and violence? Yes… creating a faster 3D model to achieve this goal is that really what is needed? Idk this just felt like a talk between people who are not from it, respectfully.

The cost of the product is not related to the cost of production. This 3d printing solution is nothing but marketing spin.

Icon homes could follow the same pattern as Tesla. Build high end, high margin homes to develop sustainable, affordable housing for the masses.
