Welcome to an epic edition of Dungeon Synth Sunday this week, where we present five artists conjuring distinctly vivid and expansive soundscapes across four albums, from three visionary labels.

We open with a suitably frosty seque from the black metal of the week into the synth explorations of Sunday, with a split between Adrestia and Lehman – our first of two advance streams of Realm and Ritual releases.

Adrestia deliver a near 30-minute piece of heady, trance-inducing sub-zero ambient black metal, which Lehman follows with four tracks of nomadic snow-bound forest wandering synth. Freezing cold compositions to mirror the bleakness and beauty of winter
