The second largest diamond in the world has been discovered in Botswana by Canadian mining company Lucara Diamond. The massive 2,492-carat diamond was found in the country's northeastern Karowe mine. While Lucara did not provide its value, the Financial Times newspaper reported that people close to the company, who were not identified, estimated the stone could be worth upwards of $40 million.
