Thanks for the shoutout and huge appreciation for all your work you're doing here!
I can't wait to see your results in game with 3.18. Hopefully it will improve things for a lot of people :)

I think we've said it all along, Gen12 is not the jesus patch people were hoping much like SOC, SSOC and other tech wasn't the savior of performance. It is just one more piece in the never-ending stream of improvements rather than a magic bullet.

I just wanted to say thankyou for your testing in SC with cpus, upgraded from a 3700x to a 5800x3d thanks to your reviews.

I am very happy cig has made S42 a priority. Even though I am most i interested in the PU having the push to get S42 out is going to move us to beta. By the end of 2023 we should see SC running close to the performance of most other games. 2023 is going to be such a great polishing year for the game in cpu and gpu performance.

Hope Gen12 makes the game barely l3 cache dependent as all modern games.

I have a 3600x with a 6700xt and the performance is definitely playable! I love that little workhorse! Great vidi mate!

VR will be coming asap as well if it’s up to Silvan. we’ll see when he can take holiday leave to implement it in his free time 😂

Can't wait to see the difference, looking forward to seeing some youtube side by side comparisons of the difference in zones between 3.17 vs 3.18, even if its some what inaccurate due to condition of the servers/where other players are/etc.

Thanks for keeping the SC community informed.

i am only on a 1070 ti / i7 7700k and if you run lossless scaling "with a few setting tweaks" i get 120-160 fps

3.17.4 Seeing 60% CPU utilization on a 5950x and 100% GPU utilization on 3070 running on W10 + 64gig ram at 1440p. Averages 60 - 70 fps in space some drops planetside still to 20 - 30

I went from a 4970k + 980TI + 32gb DRR3 to a 7950x + 6900XT + 64gb DDR5 and saw a performance increase of about 250%. Usually I can lock in 75+ FPS outside of cities, but I keep the GPU limited to below 85 fps for temps and power consumption. Previously I saw a lot of 15-25 cinematic fps gameplay, rarely up to 60.

Got a 13900KF on the way, as well as a 3080 10GB. I should have no issues at all.

I'd be happy for 5 frames plus with Gen 12.
Older i7-6950 extreme @ 4.2ghz is doing well with the Zotac 4090 Trinity OC across triple 4k screens.
Never seen any bottle necking of CPU or GPU (?)
Avg 55fps. Very high texture quality and high cloud quality. 3.17.4
Great job with your testing and presentation.

Hey Ten Pound,

3.18 is in Wave 1. Looking forward to your Gen12 performance improvment tests!!!

Chiming in to say 3.18 PTU so far is yielding 25-30 percent LESS frames per second on my machine then 3.17.4 does. I run the game on an i9 10980XE 18 core with 3080ti GPU. The system sees no higher GPU utilization than 40 percent. So in my case the stress on CPU threads seem to have increased rather than decreased with 3.18.

this is very accurate as i have been playing until recently with a Ryzen 3600X and avg fps was 49.1 for me. now instead of a total Platform redo i just grabbed a 5800X3D last black Friday and its great!

If I can get 60 fps avg with my build. Am not going to upgrade. But am really tempted for a 5900x/5950x
