As a long time i8 owner this car is far from a bargain without a warranty. As this car would have cost me over £25, 000 in terms of repairs when the electric motor and wiring loom failed. A headlight on this car if you have the laser lights in the UK is £13, 000 each. Be careful it was £120k new. It is still super car prices to fix and only BMW can work on it as they locked the service manual now.

it is a budget supercar. according to reviews made by reputable auto journalists it is fast enough, handles well and is very fun to drive. weight is especially good for a hybrid and lighter than current bmw m models, even m2. even without the boost from the electric motor it has good pace. it also has a proper sports car platform and seating position. you have good fuel economy and low engine maintenance costs compared to cars that have 6 cylinder or more. the problem is people buying cars in this category can afford to pay more for a better car like Ferrari 296 or Porsche 911, 718 gt4.

ive seen i8's go for as low as 34k now in 2025 . the facty you can put a wrap on it and it looks like a hyper car is just too good of a steal. most definitely would be a nice daily small flex even if it does get gapped by some hyuandai's or average m series or c63 series

I used to work at an exotic car place driven a lot of cars and this was definitely one of the worst cars I’ve driven and I love bmw. Great for gas though I guess if u want a unique daily

Bro people don't realize wraps only last about a year or two before they start peeling falling off and crumbling away. And for the same price you can get a nice ass paint job that will last for ever with all the ceramic technology we have today
