The entire Gacha community is a prime example of why giving children with unrestricted internet access an opportunity to make anything with any characters they want and show it to the masses of children also doing the same is a very not good idea.

I realise now that despite the original games (not studio games of which were the only mentioned) being real games,
They still are "Gacha" games. While i was lucky to not have a gambling addiction despite the hours I spent as a kid on the "Gacha world" Game,
I see how that could develop if i wasn't locked out of microtransactions, i think i will defend even the more gameplay oriented games less.
I struggle from another addiction and I never considered addiction on the table until you pointed it out, thank you.

I don't know if you knew this but Gachaverse comes BEFORE Life and Club. So Gacha Life is an "improvement" to Gachaverse, and Gacha Club is an "improvement" to Gacha Life.

To address the "Why use Gacha if you can just draw" point I just wanna say that I don't think it was ever intended to be used for art purposes anyway. When people create art content from it I think it's very much a preference thing.
In my experience I've been using Gacha apps for about 5 years now and I think I draw pretty well anyways (if I do say so myself, I've been drawing from like 3 years old but idfk). I mainly use Gacha for videos but it's really just for the fun of it and how I can stretch the app's limits to create something above average 'screenshot slideshow videos' the community is notoriously known for. Plus it depends on what the person wants to use, just because I can animate or draw doesn't mean I always have to whenever I wanna make content, and I do create drawn animatics every so often too.

TLDR: We use Gacha because why not lol

This is a surprisingly thoughtful video on the subject. I do not play the games, or consume any content, but I think the main appeal of the series is the art style. I unironically love the way the characters look.

As a gacha community member, i can explain everything. Honestly the community hates itself, heat is the main problem as gacha life’s heat-blocking thingy is only on certain devices, on gacha studio you can’t do anything. On gachaverse there’s nothing to do. On gacha club you either are annoying, are good, or do heat. Everyone blames the creator but it’s the community’s fault, everyone made extreme problems that the creator couldn’t handle at all.

As a person that used to be in the gacha fandom, I will say my response to this video. I think that this video explains well on the situation of the community and its horrible reputation. When I was in the community a few years ago, most of the community was just a normal and generic community. Sure there were some rlly good edits here and there but most of it was just unfunny memes, reaction videos, meme animations and some decent edits. The heat part of the community was basically a small portion of the community that the majority wanted to stamp out. I feel like commentary youtubers reacting to gacha life cringe on the r/gachalifecringe subreddit so they could get ad revenue to pay rent accidentally caused their fans to bully gacha fans out of EXISTANCE. I can say that the gacha club is a massive upgrade to gacha life because of the more creativeness with its mechanics. While I do think the community is cringe, the community against it is sometimes worse than the gacha community. They will flat out dehumanize any gacha kid with a pfp and bully them until they give up. There was a period in the gacha community where some red bitch (I forget her name) was a gacha youtuber and said the most out of pocket stuff in order to get views. It’s basically the same as what Lisa gaming did. Do something out of pocket, free views. Luckily it pretty much ended and everybody forgot about the yt, but other ones followed that same formula and kept the period going for a solid few more months. The last thing I need to address with the “learn how to draw” thing. I think that statement is a little too overboard because practically all of gacha community uses mobile. Ive seen a lot of talented work come out the community using both drawing and editing the characters. Just let them do their thing with the training wheels and soon enough they will learn how to do some really talented drawing. In conclusion, Gacha life is basically a average community with a small portion of the community being bad, the only thing different from other communities is that it gets dehumanized and bullied to DEATH

I use gacha rarely but when I do I mainly just use it for a general idea of a character for writing or drawing. It’s a way for me to visualize the character, mainly the colors, so my writing and drawings are a little more consistent as I have some memory problems. I don’t post anything I make on gacha anywhere but I have used it. Anyway great video and points that I mainly agree with!

“Why use Gacha life” Because it’s fun??? You’re completely ignoring the fact that not everything people do is for the sake of improving. What's sad is that prior to Gacha Life the gacha games were actually pretty good in terms of lore and communities. I don't know why you hadn't included games like Gacha World and Gacha memories (And Actual fleshed out RPG and a Visual novel.)

Former gacha club person here, its really sad how everybody including random people ruining gacha club. I stopped using it and i run and hide away when someone comes near me or i turn it off because i dont want to be called a loser or smthin like that. Its really sad how i cant even make anything revolving about gacha club nor watch anything about it. It's kinda sad. Thats it.
(Ps: i have REALLY sensitive feelings, so I really can't take being called a loser.)
