My idea merged with others mentioned here is aluminum bucket but hollow filled with phase change element of zinc or for lower temperature tin. Are those readily available?

People need infrastructure investment and connect to a national grid. The US and its structural readjustment and austerity did more to make this problem worse than anyone. This is a political and economic problem, not a technological one. Parabolic solar thermal array heating an insulated solid mass is fine for communal. The multifamiliar scale is essential for it to be efficient and economic though. Molten salt is pretty dangerous to be carrying around, but 25kg of the stuff would be all you need for 3kwhs. I just think they need an induction cooker and the grid tbh.
