In yorkshire it was called the basin cut. I actually saw kids in the 1950, s with it at school. Their grandad put a basin on top of the head then shaved any and all hair below the rim....I think this hailed from the first war and developed as the short back and sides

Peaky Blinders: great series. Highly-stylized and one might argue repetitive topic ( various crime intrigues). But, superb acting and wonderfully filmed. Characters are so consistent and spot on. Beautiful photography and costumes. Loved it. Look forward to movie version or if planned, a series 7.
