To all those looking forward to my in-depth review of the Ignatius Study Bible,

I have made quite the miscommunication error. In an earlier post I mentioned a review of it would be up on the 13th of February. It will actually be up on the 20th. This was always the intended date. I hope you understand that I want to take some time with this bible as it is (figuratively and literally) the biggest book I will review.

I pray you understand my mistake and understand.

God Bless,
CC

Thank you so much. My father is asking for a Catholic Bible and this was exactly what i needed to determine my choice!

I am very much looking forward to purchasing this bible. My spiritual resolution this year is to dig more deeply into Scripture and i believe this is an invaluable tool. Can't wait for the review! Thanks.

I just ordered this Bible. I’m more than ready to finally have a Catholic study Bible.

I am glad you finally got it. I am glad that Bible is not damaged despite box being mangled. How do you like hardcover edition? I have leather/or whatever it is made of. So far I am loving. Just make sure to go over it to make sure that there are no pages missing/printing errors etc since I read that there are some QC issues with some of them. Thankfully mine was all good. If everything is good, enjoy it, it is great edition.

Very interesting! Have you read this entire Bible? It is on my list to read. I am fairly new to the Bible. I read the Word on Fire Bible Volume 1 on the Gospels, but I like how this is a collection of all the scriptures. Do you think this Bible would be good for me, even if I'm a beginning on my studies?
Again, thank you for all of these videos. Keep up the good work!

I want to get this so bad. I’m going to soon after I catch up on some of my reading.

I have it. I'm not impressed. Initially it seemed good, as Scott Hahn is a great guy. But man the more you read it, it reeks of modernism. Constant back and forth on validity of authorship (big portion on if Moses wrote the Torah, only to say ok he probably did, then an even bigger portion to say Matthew didn't write Matthew, while then saying it's defensible to say he did and perhaps the Church fathers weren't wrong...), no mention on Genesis 3:15 of the Vulgate saying "she" regarding who steps on the head of the snake despite the depth of church history on that or even at least mention "it" or "they" found in many other Bible translations like KJV, notes in Sirach literally say the author is clearly a byproduct of a time that didn't view women highly (no joke, Christian Wagner found this first), and Sam Shalmoun has a good video reviewing it showing how it strongly considers an idea regarding David's authorship of Psalms 110 that'd go against direct words of Jesus. The whole tone of it is just weird. Very un-enriching. I'm getting the Haydock Bible after just reading half of Genesis and the intros and notes across a handful of books. I'll never trust a Bible with that many modern PhD's again. I think they're fine people, but forgot their audience is already Catholic. Felt like they were writing while imagining Bart Erhman as their audience.

Felt more like a critical analysis of the Bible, than a Bible study guide. The Haydock Bible seems much richer on actually adding information to motivate the reader.

I think that your presentation would have been much better and more enlightening if you had prepared in advance.
