Was Coming to Newfoundland a Mistake?

I’m a landscape photographer who lives full time in my 4Runner, Ross, and so far I’ve driven over 3,000 miles to the great northern peninsula in Newfoundland to capture Icebergs in iceberg alley. Today we aren’t looking for iceberg as we’ve found plenty. Right now the objective is to not to turn into an iceberg myself. Over the next 10 days you get a true glimpse into my life on the road that shows the darker sides of the experience, sadly it’s not always rainbows and sunshine, but as you’ll discover in this video, the journey is totally worth it. This is episode 2.

It's never a mistake doing what you love. I've been a photographer for nearly 50 years, and sometimes just getting a snapshot is all you need for your memories. Not ever picture needs to be portfolio worthy. Some of favorite pictures have horrible composition, but brings back a ton of awesome memories.

I understand you and I feel your struggling with the cold. In those conditions it's easy to feel frustrated and left the place after no signs of better weather but you practiced the art of the patience and get images and show them to us! Images 14 and 19 are very nice in my opinion.

Another wonderful video! the sentiment behind it all is very inspiring! The black and white images turned out really great but that last shot was really fantastic! Looking forward to the next installment. Cheers!

Awesome images.

I feel your pain on cold days that never end. I live in Michigan. It's pretty much gray for 4-6 months during the cold season.

You got the Pay Off in the end! Patience is a virtue and you were able to reap the rewards of waiting for the light! Thanks for taking me along!

This series is really great, Alex. No matter the misery, your core enthusiasm is such joy to watch, no matter where it takes you.

I think my favourite images in this video are the ones at 25:14 and 25:31. As always, I really enjoyed your video, and I love what you said: "Don't stress over the things you don't have control over." I have been fighting depression for quite some time now and recently started my own channel to beat it, even though I couldn't get rid of the stressful thoughts that maybe I am too late to start a channel, and maybe I should go back to my old job. But watching this video made me feel better. So, thank you for that.

The B&W of the berg and the coast towards the end is very nice. I also like the hut at the end. Great images.

Great video Alex! Love the story telling of the journey. I feel a bit guilty watching you freeze though, as I’m literally watching this while laying on the beach in sunny Florida. Looking forward to the Colorado workshop.

Wow. Thank you for being here. I just lost my job today and your video has saved me for a bit. It doesn't feel it, but I'll find where I need to be again. Thank you.

Good morning Alex 🌈 I'm sorry you had such a long stretch of cold crappy weather, and admire your stick-to-it-ness. It paid off. Like that you are seeing the smaller details in nature and the abstract photos you get. Hands down my favourite is #14 though! Hi Sophie.
