I remember watching this show in the early 90s when I would come home from school. I had all the pogs and VHS tapes. The main characters were amateur detectives in high school who were always getting into trouble. The main character's dad ran an old dojo and that's where their headquarters were. The Juban district was a party suburb where yakuza would deal drugs and rob stores at night, and this is one of the famous montages that would be at the end of every episode. I thought it was so cool that Cameron's character had an ultrasonic spying device that was disguised as a walkman, and that they would modify cassette tapes to be weapons. I asked my mom over and over to buy the same model for me but she could never find it. I remember there was a trivia quiz after the credits, and Neighbor was the song that would play over the preview for the next episode. I would tell my dad to tape the episodes while I was at school. I rewatched the VHS tapes until they were worn out. Good times.

i absolutely can't put into words just how much i love this guy's entire aesthetic. The sheer idea behind the entire ep and the slight jab at 80s media, its honestly done so well. I only discovered him after loretta, but man i already love the music.
