Hello and thank you for coming to this video in this video we should show you basically how to backup windows server a full backup also adjusts a system state which gives you active directory restore ability am also how to restore them. So the backup and restore of full version and also just for active directory because that requires a slightly different way to restore and we should show you the full steps you get to server manager, open up that's straightforward, go to features which is after roles like a serious go next and then features make sure you select windows server backup, which is over here as a straightforward being. All of those adjusts install and will finish in a few seconds ago that finished so now all we need to do is just a block, and when this opens up.

It's like that, then yes, click on local backup as you can see we haven't set up any backup schedules that the concept behind this is you can do a full backup every time and you can set it every half an hour, except Robison time schedule either. Maybe just once a day. If you're not busy or if you're doing a lot of changes on a computer and you need backups for us security for your own peace of mind okay contains a now when you do a back up the matter which version you choose.

Okay, the steps are straightforward. Or custom okay arm. I would suggest full and the reason why is okay for us. This is a surly demo machines is only using up 16.24 gigs okay. You might have a 1 TB when you do. With incremental backup settings. What happens is the first time.

Yes, let's assume it's a 1 TB hard disk backing up like a or hard disks, and that will backup and then once that is done, you then basically only do changes. Whatever changes are being made only those are being backed up so it's a lot of time and space is being saved, so I would go the full and using the full you can restore your DNS your active directory. Other system settings et cetera as well. Okay if you are using a virtual machine. Okay, like for example, VMware, you will find that the custom setting which most people choose to do a system state account which restorers active directory that does on our machine comes out roughly a 10 gig. I guess there's not much of a difference.

Okay between the system state and a full server backup on a empty system. Literally. I guess that's those points I would go with full server and then click next and man you can choose times for example, the given you a 9 PM at night okay when assuming nobody is around pleasant, quiet. If you're making lots of changes during the day and have lots and lots of different settings are growling at 10 AM, then made again 12 lunchtime and then to for even more....

Hello sir. Hope u can reply to my comment. I have backup my AD server in a shared folder on another server. If i want to restore by the bootable method, can it detect my backup image in the shared folder? Or i need to transfer the backup into my AD server first?

Question... at 5:40 when you go into 'Configure Performance Settings', the default is 'Normal'. What will that do? Will that be doing a FULL backup each time? Or is it Differential vs Incremental if you select 'Faster backup performance' as you did in the video? Thanks.

Quick question when doing full restore will it restore AD as well? Or do you do a full restore first, then do systemstate afterwards?

Personally I backup my server in a Nas from the network.. Do you think it's to recover the whole server with boot mode from the network instead of local disks?

At 17:17 you talk about Authoritative Restore. Why would you not always choose that. If your AD isn't corrupt why would you restore AD from backup rather then just build a new AD server if a specific server has crashed.
