As a girl I understand when men have this mentality and honestly its not a stupid idea. I have family members that made bad marriage choices and wish it was different (not as much as he wishes it was different). It's the easy way to keep yourself safe. i know nobody will probably see this, but i need some advice for this stuff, so theres this girl i work with that I’ve been friends with since she started, and apparently shes one of the most quiet person and shows very little emotion when I’m not around, but then when i’m around she become so talkative and just completely lights up, whether i’m on shift or not. whenever she gets food, which is normally something shareable, shell want me to have some, and around a few weeks ago, she was arguing with one of my other good friends as to who my best friend was in front of me. then the other day i was up there on one of my days off and asked me in an apparently flirtatious tone if “i really had to go”, and everything kind of started coming together. but its weird because she always tells me when shes in or out of a relationship, tells me about certain dates shes going on or was on recently, and just really seems to be doing things that seem kind of weird to me. granted she only started doing that around a month ago, and my irl friends think that its because i wasn’t picking up on any of the obvious signs and since shes 18-19 and that’s kind of the age where girls apparently start trying to make people they like jealous from their experience. Another thing is that i was able to get onto the topic about who she liked and she kind of looked away slightly the moment it was said, and started saying um, and then i said something and she says that its someone i wouldn’t know, and finally after i said something else, she started talking about someone she had her eye on that i didnt know. also, we hung out outside of work once and got icecream, and she went first because i didnt know what i wanted and payed for mine rifht after i ordered it. and then we went out to a store to get things for the new car she had gotten. its weird to me because everyone seems to think she likes me but for me its extremely hard to tell, i should also say ive never been in a relationship before or even a date for that matter. i just really need some advice because shes one of my best friends and i dont want to lose her friendship.
