I’m sorry for the loss of your friend, Jill. I really enjoyed this impromptu chat. I saw Jill Sobule perform to a small group on the second floor of the South Street Starbucks in the late 90s. Jim Boggia accompanied. She was so nice and real; just normal and not blown up by her fame.

"That was fuun. People love you." I think it would be incredible if Jill took a tour of your lab, stuff, and you walked through some projects together -- with us in tow, of course.
Come back soon, and have a safe trip. :)

Discovered Jill here, though I'm sure I knew "I kissed a girl", listen a dozen of her songs on the spot. Thanks Fran!

2022 is the year Soylent Green takes place, also the year George Jetson was born.

As I was listening to the discussion of Mexican Coke I was enjoying a bottle of Cambodian Coke that is make with cane sugar and costs 50 cents for 600ml. You can get US Coke here that is made with corn syrup but it is more than twice as expensive. I've never bought it and am not sure why you would.

That was quite the wide ranging discussion, reminded me of a 70's talk show but different. JIll needs to come back and jam right?

Fran this was one of your best. I'm glad to be amongst our era that uses that same ringtone. That's what I grew up with.
Two days ago I got the idea of using Bowie's "Ground control to Major Tom" as my ring tone. I'm still caught between but I think it might work for me. I'm not into so much of the musical ringtones. I only use a " knock knock, knock anybody there" for my alerts but this song would fit my era and interest.

Odd candy from my youth? Necco wafers, Canada mints, Squirrel Nut bars, Mary Jane's, Bit-A-Honey bars, and those wax bottle things with colored sugar water inside.

At 18:42, when viewers mention favorite bad movies: "Sweeney Todd"! My parents were incensed that my 8th grade music teacher taught us from the rock opera "Tommy", and complained to the school principal; and yet my mom attended a "Sweeney Todd" performance on Broadway and listened to the record at home. Apparently murder and cannibalism perpetrated by adults in pursuit of capitalism and culinary reknown is okay, but a boy driven into severe PTSD by a murder conspiracy, who is subject to sexual abuse and drug therapy by adults, but eventually undergoes a journey of self-discovery and escapes his mental prison, now that was apparently a bridge too far. That said, the only version of Tommy I liked was the original record by the Who; I never cared for any of the recordings of broadway or off- Broadway performances, nor the movie versions. The same thing applies to Jesus Christ Superstar, the brown-cover double album with Ian Gillan from Deep Purple on lead vocals was the only one worth listening to.
