Optical illusions are fun to look at and can tell us a lot about our sense of sight. What are your thoughts on the way the eyes work?

I remember reading something somewhere like "you actually see the world with your brain, the eyes are just the windows that let the light in", or something along that line.

Such a masterpiece of nature, perfected over millions of years through the process of evolution.

Now used for viewing dank memes over the internet.

We basically see with our brain, eyes just the windows for light or visual to pass. Because mind store all sound and image data and we can see video when we are dreaming. Mind is great

After becoming knowledgeable on how a camera works you increasingly become aware that there is very little correlation on how a camera and an eye perceive perspective, line, color and tone. The brain is constantly compensating for the inadequacies of the data being received from the eye.

The eye does not see; the brain does. It interprets what eyes deliver, called visial-perceptiual skills of the brain.

you don't see anything if you didn't know how to interpret the visual information. Memory is key to understanding the outside world.

Disappointed you didn't take the discussion further, i.e. to discuss how we don't actually see anything, but rather that we only receive the brain's INTERPRETATION of the world around us, not the reality of what is actually there.
