I can't believe he said riding a quote on quote "ef5". An EF5 can reach up to a mile wide. That's way over a mile wide, I do know one thing for sure. It may not be on the scale, but that is way more than the ef5.

Fun fact: The armored truck was picked up because it was too tall. If you look at the real armored tornado chasers, such as TIV 1 and 2 and Dominator 1-4, they're extremely low to the ground to keep them from lifting off

I’m glad he got to see the sun one last time. And from what we saw in the last frame before it cut out, Pete could have survived the fall, but he would have succumbed to his injuries later. We can see that the turret was not impacted. And depending on the speed he was falling. Only up to the front doors of the vehicle could have crushed. It was mostly likely the sudden stop and the shifting of the brain and organs that killed him and or he hit his head or as I said before succumbed to his injuries.
