Task:

Solve the simultaneous equations:

x^2+xy+2Y^2 = 4 (Quadratic) ;
and 2x+3y =-1 (Linear)

Re-arrange the linear equation for x or y and use this value into the quadratic equation.
This will yield a quadratic equation in one variable, and this can be solved using the quadratic formula
or by finding factors. In the example shown, we solved it by factors. once the values of one of the variable
are known, we can use these back into the linear equation to obtain the other variable.

The graphical representation of the equations and how to draw this type of problem is shown at the end.
The two graphs intersect at solution points.
