I've never been the adventurous type, but, I DID once go Parachuting, in Germany, because my NCOIC said that I didn't have any cajones.... Truthfully, I don't. But, I went on the trip with a group of men in my unit that were planning to go, as was that NCOIC that had asked me if I was going. I jumped twice, because, once could always be a fluke, but, not necessarily twice.
My 1st jump was from a Uh1 Chopper. I've always liked the Hueys. The 2nd jump was from a Cessna; I've always HATED Cessna's... They scare me. That was my 2nd time in a Cessna, and, to jump from it, we had to stand with 1 foot on the step and 1 foot on the tire, and, stand there holding on to the wing until the Jump Master said, "Jump"... I was just glad to be out of the daggum Cessna !! Both jumps were Static-Line jumps.
Both times I went out screaming, "OH...SH*T !!!"
As soon as my parachute opened, I was OK.

My parents thought that the US Army had forced me to go. Imagine the looks on their faces when I told them WHY I went !!!
It was hilarious !!
