Jeff Bridges played his own great grandfather in Heaven's Gate. Cimino had wanted Bridges so badly for the film that he actually wrote in a character related to the actor!

I liked both Heaven's gate and King Kong. Those two are films are always mixed reviews films. Some reviewers love them and others think they're rubbish. King Kong is entertaining but it suffers a bit from some corny special effects and goofy characters.
