Thanks for the good reporting. As a constituent of Cawthorn’s 11th district, I have seen the multiple accounts of him lying.
The irony of his party continually back pedaling on his admissions of lying in every situation before and after his election is they allowed mark Meadows to endorse his campaign in our district to whom we also feels completely betrayed by with his omissions of the truth as well. I’ve learned my lesson on the GOP thugs that are constantly endorsed for viable candidates in NC. Thanks again for your reporting !

He was driving with a revoked license. Which, by definition, he legally doesn't have a valid license to drive. Therefore, he is not legally able to operate a motor vehicle. What should have been done, if no one else was in the vehicle to drive it for him, the vehicle should have been impounded. What would the outcome be if after he pulls away from the traffic stop, a mile down the road he causes an accident. Rest assured, he, and any other injured parties would be looking for a way to sue the Law Enforcement agency who "allowed" him to go on his merry way. Their case would be, well, the police knew I didn't have a right to be driving and they let me drive anyway. Instead, after being cited for driving with a revoked license, hey, let's hive him a speeding ticket in one instance, then, when he gets stopped again for speeding, let's give him another ticket for speeding and driving with a revoked license.

I don't understand what's the big deal. He was in violation of NC traffic laws, he assumed responsibility for his actions and didn't blame it on the democrats, he immediately informed the trooper that he was in possession of a firearm and where it was located in the vehicle, and when the trooper broke contact they were both unscathed. I remember such a time when that was a good thing.

This is just the beginning of the interaction. The trooper gets Cawthorn’s documents and goes back to his vehicle to check them out, saying he’ll be right back. Where’s the rest of this? Cops didn’t release the whole episode — why not?

This comes out right after he said members of congress invited him to sexual parties and he’s watched those who are supposed to be going against illegal drugs do cocaine bumps right in front of him. Great timing 🙄🤐🤥
