"This is for you, Momma Possums..."

Great little acoustic (!) song by Mojo....
Nixon paired with Skid Roper (aka Richard Banke) in the early 1980s in San Diego. Roper mostly provided instrumental backup to Nixon's lyrics. Nixon and Roper released their first album in 1985 on Enigma Records. Although the album's title is officially Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper, many fans refer to it as "Mojo Nixon and Skeeeed Roper." The song "Jesus at McDonald's" from that album was the duo's first noteworthy single.

Mojo Nixon has declared his personal religious trinity is Elvis Presley, Foghorn Leghorn and Otis Campbell.

Track # 10 from the album

Mojo Nixon: Vocals, Guitar and Foot
Skid Roper: Upright washboard and other stuff

Recorded at The Bungalow, Coronado, Calif. Except Rockin' Religion, Black Yo' Eye, recorded at Soundtrax, S.D. Calif.

Produced by Mudbone Mixed at Hit Single Below a Shopping Center Photography by Jeff de Rose Design by Skidmore Grafix

Hello, Skid wanted to give some background for this tune and say that Mamma Possums was a little diner in Danville, Virginia where Mojo grew up.

a little late to the corngrabulations, but skid, you made my high school days a little more tolerable.  stupid 80s hair metal almost made me a serial killer.
