We have organised a Cultural Tourism Recovery workshop in Baguio, Philippines. "Cultural tourism recovery: sharing best practices" is funded by Australia-ASEAN Council, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The project connects cultural tourism initiatives in Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines via a webinar series to gain greater capacity to rejuvenate cultural tourism post-pandemic.
The workshop took place at Venus Parkview Hotel and was prepared in collaboration with University of the Cordilleras, Saint Louis University and Winaca Eco-cultural Village. Speakers shared about the current status of cultural tourism in the Philippines, and focused on opportunities to diversify economic activities post-pandemic.
On the second day of the workshop we visited Winaca Eco-Cultural Village to experience what we discussed the day before. Winaca Eco-Cultural Village is a great example of cultural tourism and also of economic diversification in a rural community environment.
