My First Basic Mini Aquaponics System (Part 1) 18 June 2014

This is a video of my first very basic aquaponics system. I have been cycling my system for 3 weeks without fish using pure ammonia. I added seaweed extract and chelated iron to give the plants required nutrients, this explains the dark coloured water. At this stage I have nitrates and nitrites which tells me that the system has started to colonize the two main types of beneficial bacteria nitrosomonas and nitrobacter. This video will show you how I set up my system.
