Here's a one liner to reset the eval period:

Simple how-to on resetting the ESXi evaluation mode timer.
I have confirmed this works on ESXi version 6, and AFAIK it works on previous versions as well.

Let´s say I fast forward a new vm bios to year 2118, disable vm clock update, install ESXi and then copy those files. Will it work and say I would have 100 years and 15 days left on evaluation, such as some products still do ?

Second question, instead of copy over files, why not keep a local copy and override them locally with a crontab script every day ?

You can just delete these files restart esxi and it will create new ones with the full 145 eval again.

Can you suggest a good folder to copy these files into on the ESXi host, so i can keep these files there and then have a script run to simply copy it over to /etc/vmware ? Not sure if messing with file structure of vmware will cause any issues so i didnt want to just go and create folders/files in there
