This is a really helpful tutorial - thank you! I have found that when I use the Matplotlib Zoom-to-rectangle button that the red vertical and horizontal lines disappear BUT the button press events still accurately give the positions from the zoomed-in graph. Is there a way of having the red lines persist, even after using the Zoom-to-rectangle button on the bottom left of the Matplotlib window?
