Due to GNOME desktop design issue, there's no graphical option in the right-click menu to quickly create new text document in Ubuntu & Fedora Workstation.

GNOME uses template for commonly-used document types. There's however no default template file that causes "New Document" option not visible out-of-the-box.

The developer team has been working to redesign the 'Template'. Until then, user may enable 'New Document' option by manually saving a text file into that folder.

To do so, just open text editor, click Save button, and save an empty file into the "Template" folder.

Who thought of such a damn innovation that it is not possible to create a file?

I don't understand why I need to google how I can create a new document. That's a bad UX.
