Jesus died and was buried on wednesday. the Jews had a two sabbaths that week. High sabbath was thursday. the next sabbath was saturday. Christ was in the grave 3 full nights. He arose between saturday evening yet before the sun rise on sunday. Jews day begin at sunset to sunset. Same as Gods creation in with the first 6 days in Genesis. GOD IS AWESOME.

Now when the magi are in Babylon or Persia or wherever I get they probably were following the constellations and started their journey. But I'm guessing the star they saw that was set over Bethlehem to lead them there since herod and his crew didn't know what was going on. I think that star was probably a angel that could move and direct the magi. Astronomers acknowledge that both stationary and moving solar bodies still wander and move and move with respect to where a person is as the person moves.

On 23-August-2018 I discovered that Halley's comet is the same Star of Bethlehem. The real period of Halley's comet is 76.03 years. If you add periods by 76.03 years since the year 1 You Will see these three historical dates of the Halley' comet: 1) Year 1 AD, when Jesus was born in Bethlehem. 2) Year 837 AD when Ludovico Pius was King. 3) Year 1066 AD when William the Conqueror invaded England. When the Halley' comet reaches it's perihelion point, the Halley' comet stops in the sky. The year 1986 AD was really the year 1978 AD, because three is a mistake or accunulated of 8 years in the history after 1066 AD

I love the celestial connection that appears in the heavens and i'm sure that's exactly what happened. i actually saw a planetarium presentation of called the Star of Bethlehem years and years ago from a secular astrological perspective that made the same conjecture that the star was not a supernova or anything flashy that all would notice. they talked about the conjunction of Jupiter and Regulus too and how rare that was and the retrograde motion would have "led" them just as the scriptures say. hard to believe a secular source on a liberal college campus did a program like that, but they gave that presentation every year for a long time. i'm glad i saw it then bc i'm sure they don't do it now. anways, i love that you confirmed this idea that I heard so many years ago when i was in college. i don't doubt it at all because it's just like it says in the Psalms that the heavens declare the glory of God. and what is more glorious than the announcement of the birth of Christ!! people often joke about wishing that God would write His will in the sky. Well, apparently He did!!

One question though.... i dont see how the words of John in Revelation chapter 12 could have played into the motivation for the magi coming to bethlehem though. that letter wasn't written until around 90 AD, right?. There wouldn't have been a prophecy about the woman clothed with the sun, a crown of stars and the moon at her feet nor the serpent set to devour the child at the time they were studying the sky. Are you implying that the same info John wrote down later was somehow revealed to the magi at the time of the birth of Christ.?

Good explanation. Lots of constellation stuff going on in Bible. It’s been hidden on purpose. Best explanation I’ve heard is from John Mchugh on cuneiform polysemy. His explanation needs looked into. It explains most things.

Please credit the late Dr. Ernest L. Martin, who did the research on Revelation 12, and wrote the definitive book: The Star that Astonished the World back in the 1970’s.
