Ramsey Lewis Anti-Bullying PSA

Jazz legend Ramsey Lewis donated his time, talent and real life memories to star in a new public service announcement produced by Ravinia for the “We Stand Together” anti-bullying campaign. The 30-second television spot features Lewis at the piano surrounded by students from several Highland Park middle schools. Lewis tells the kids that when he was a young man, he wanted to be a classical pianist, but was prevented from pursuing that dream because no orchestra would hire an African American in that era. Building on his classic hit “The ‘In’ Crowd,” Lewis encourages the children to never let anyone keep them “out.”
