The film has a unique style of presentation emphasizing character's subjectivity. Cinematography and the lead character's performance (played by 3 different actors) are the highlights of the film. My personal favorite is the way score is used.
But the film's flaw is the screenplay. This film is more about three events rather than three stages of the character's life. It has a very narrow focus on only one aspect of the character which did make me empathize with him, but not without a sense of forced pity. Plus there was this one scene which, if you consider the timeline of the film, made absolutely zero sense to exist. Despite this and some other minor flaws, Moonlight is an excellent film. I might watch it again. 8/10

Seen the review!! That's the entire story of moonlight!! Liked the review!! Saw the film!! And there was nothing more to the story!! A complete bore!! Would recommend Rima Das' Village Rockstars

Roger Ebert may have been great but he made some blunders too just like A Clockwork Orange and Elephant Man were the albatross hanging around his neck Befikre will be yours!.Well i can name few more Blue Velvet, The Usual Suspects, Die Hard etc.I'll say you have done okay till now.

It was badly cut. All scenes related to him discovering his sexuality were butchered taking away the impact considerably. Also any dear words were muted. And that after getting an A rating.

If The Danish girl could have its sex scene screened intact as 'that was crucial to the plot', why was the same logic not applied to this.

Our censor board works so arbritarily. This outdated conservative mindset needs to be changed dramatically.

I really hate when critics give away major plot points of a movie. just let the viewer discover it for themselves. this is also quite a bad review. you basically say : " this happens, then this happens and it's very emotional 4/5 stars".
