I think they just did it too good. She knew she wasn’t invisible until they showed her the picture. I think she couldn’t think around that piece of evidence before freaking out. Up until then, she was having fun.

And we forget her context. If I was her age I might have responded the same because I watched a movie when I was younger where they tried to do a magic trick and the kid disappeared forever.
