Based on his personal life Jeremy wanted to discover the scientific basis for the belief effect. In medicine, the belief effect is called the placebo effect. A placebo is like
a sugar pill that can work because people believe it does. It’s as powerful as some drugs for making

A great synopsis of the Nocebo Effect and a helpful guide on how to use an understanding of its impact to help unshackle your potential.

a better tip, for inducing the relaxation response, is to take your finger and cover your right nostril, then take deep breath’s until you’re calm. If you do the opposite in the morning and cover your left nostril, then take deep breaths, it will wake you up.

It's still true...words can't hurt us. WE are the ones that hurt ourselves by TAKING OFFENSE to the words.

I don't think your basketball vs rowing example is suitable for this talk as its not apple's for apples.
Rowing uses your limbs in pairs and requires alot less co ordination than even walking while swinging your arms nevermind basketball.
That being said if your coach said it, like you said it, he was out of order.
I would be more interested in why your Co ordination is/was poor.

I don't think you understand what a Nocebo effect is... though you were pretty close a few times
