Join us for a quiet stroll through the leafy and peaceful neighborhood of Hyde Park in Austin, Texas. We mainly walk around Ave G and H. Hyde Park has plenty of history as it is considered the first suburb of Austin and dates back to the 1890s! When this neighborhood was first developed in 1891, it was connected by streetcar to downtown Austin. What a little idyllic, green and diverse neighborhood in the center of the city that has coffee shops, parks, restaurants, bars, grocery stores and lots of pretty early 20th century houses (and cats!).

We'll end our walk at "Formosa", the home of German sculptor Elisabet Ney who moved to Austin in the 1880's. The house looks like a little mini-castle and is right at the edge of a park. A very unique building!
