Показать описание
It's no secret that keeping your computers and other electronic goods clean and free of dust extends their lifespan. But, getting them clean and keeping them clean is another story. Compressed air is one solution but can be costly over time and annoying as the cans run out of air quickly, not to mention they are bad for the environment.

Enter the DataVac - an electronic blower that will simply BLAST all the dust, hair, fur, and other bits and pieces out of your PC or device. The best part? It's ESD (electrostatic discharge) safe and doesn't cost a fortune.

Good on you for mentioning the thing about blowing air directly on fans. I have seen so many videos where they don't and then people wonder why their fans fail.

Touching the case if the case is just on a table won't ground you. Grounding is the charge returning to its source or to ground depending on situation. A case which is not connected to anything sitting on a table that is insulating it doesn't transfer a static charge anywhere.

Last time I did a job like this on a couple of PCs that were five years in service I had access to compressed air in a workshop. I had to be careful because the compressed air can blow small components off boards.

Step 1: Buy two filters.
Step 2: Use new filter to blow out old filter dust.
Step 3: INFINITE FILTERS

Touching the case doesn't work if the cord isn't in the wall, those pesky electrons still need to go somewhere. With the computer power off, the ground in the cord is still working just fine. If the carpet in your room creates static electricity, pull up the carpet corners and lay down a nice big square of aluminum foil under each. Very expensive anti-static carpet has, you guessed it, aluminum foil in the base. The floor is grounded, you just need to create a better collector for the carpet.

I usually use a leaf blower outside. Or a hair dryer (heat turned off).

I honestly thought he was just going to talk for the entire video. Less talk more action.

This thing looks really nice. Is there no way to adjust the the power of thing? I'd be afraid to blow components right off the motherboard or something.

Don't let the fans spin around like that while blowing air because those fans can potentially damage the bearing of fan by overspinning.

I was planning to buy something like this for sometime now, I'll consider this.

The nozzle on the thing is a bit big. It would be hard to get into the fins on the heatsinks, etc. Also, with modern fans I don't think there's any danger in spinning the fans backwards. The fans are, basically, free floating. The thing that determines the direction of their spin is the polarity of the contacts to the motor. There are no gears or anything that only spin properly in one direction. So there isn't anything that can be damaged by it spinning one way or the other.

I have the exact same blower but they're from Roline lol.
Interesting how there are always the same products but from different companies that bought 'em and resell 'em in different countries.

the TOUCHING THE CASE METHOD ONLY WORKS WHEN THE POWER CABLE WITH A GROUND IS PLUGGED IN at best all your doing when its unplugged is balancing the charge between you and the commuter components which will kind of prevent esd but there could still be a charge that you accidentally discharge against a surface when removing and setting down components the (the best LAZY anti esd method is rubbing your finger on the center screw of an outlet THATS WIRED CORRECTLY). AGAIN A STAND ALONE CASE IS NOT A GROUND 5:10
