I now understand the importance of the A1C measurement. Thanks for the clear explanation 👍🏾

Actually a very good explanation of the HbA1C blood test and its uses and limitations.

If you are at risk or concerned about high blood sugar (hyperglycemia), measure blood glucose before a meal, then 2 hours after start of meal. Get info from your doc or online. If no insurance, for about 30 bucks you can get meter, lancets and test strips for a few meals (cvs has them). I'm not a doctor, just a suggestion. Do it soon. Best wishes to all 💛

I added raw unsalted pecans to my daily diet by chance, over four years ago. My A1c has been around 5.2 ever since . My type 2 diabetes was cured.

Are you wearing a CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor)? Want to know how to determine your hbA1C?
Take the average glucose reading for a week, or month or 3 months. Add 46.7,
to that result divide by 28.7

Example My 3 month average is 139
139 + 46.7 =185.7 then divided that by 28.7
185.7 / 28.7 =6.47 This is your hbA1C
Still diabetic but watch this:

Average 115
115 + 46.7 =161.7
161.7 / 28.7 =5.634 Getting rid of your diabetes. Just don't eat sugar, processed foods (most contain sugar) or carbs.

I became a carnivore in 3 months and will never eat another carb again.
My average glucose for 3 months is 97
97 +46.7 =143.7
143 /28.7 =4.983 A1C

Thats why you need a fasting insulin level or HOMA-IR, very early markers of diabetes--- way before than fastng glucose or A1C predicts or signals impending diabetes. A fasting insulin level is the most important bloodwork because it's a very early marker of most diseases and insulin-resistance, which turns into diabetes when it's not reversed in a timely fashion.

hba1c on a Carnivore ketogenic diet is measured as higher than the actual glucose level is because (hypothetically speaking) the red blood cells are healthier and live longer than the typical 3 months .

The public has been warned repeatedly on the importance of the HbA1c test. What's missing is disclosure that insulin (the bad actor here) levels rise disproportionally with deceptively-gradual rise in A1c levels. And the medical establishment level of 5.7 is already a nasty level, for people who adopt high standards of metabolic health.

High A1C strictly speaking indicates pancreatic damage resulting from years of insulin resistance.

Due to my long lived RBCs my A1C is elevated? I’ve cured multiple metabolic dyscrasias. Perhaps the healthy have a higher normal. Glyconeogenesis sets my glucose level. Fasting glucose seems useless without a concomitant insulin measurement. Just saying.

Question, if a blood test comes back as slightly raised cholesterol what do I do. Before I use to cut out fat BUT I’m not sure that right 🤦🏼‍♀️ I don’t use any seed oils, only use butter, coconut oil and duck fat. I exercise and have a pretty good, natural diet

I just had mine tested for the first time. Machine put out "less than 4." Why didn't it give me the exact percentage?
