I already own Pandemic, Pandemic Cthulhu and Pandemic Iberia, but I am tempted to get this one too because my family likes shorter games, and it will be easier to play with just two players and solo. However, I fear it might be too short. I like Ticket to Ride London, but it is too short, for example. I like games that take about one hour to play....

I don't think the problem Pandemic has is speed, it's just very unforgiving. The problem is that its mechanical difficulty level that makes it special. It would be like trying to sell people a big mac without the special sauce.

A gateway game for a gateway game? I guess calling it "Hotzone" is better than calling it "Pandemic for kids!". I agree with you guys that donating some of the sales to charities fighting a real virus would help it a lot.

Unpopular opinion, but this may actually not only replace my core box pandemic, but also be one of the new gateways.

I think this is a good idea. My younger brother didn’t like the idea of Co-ops since you devote an good amount of time to a game you might not win
