MACBETH
26 FEB - 19 MAR
A Leeds Playhouse production

Our creative team are taking particular care over the aural storytelling throughout the production to ensure that it matches the visual storytelling in the piece. This means blind and visually impaired audiences can attend any performance. They are doing this in a range of ways including through the soundtrack and sound effects, actors fully embodying their characters vocally as well as physically, and through the omnipresence of the witches.

Shakespeare plays, including Macbeth, are already very descriptive and it’s likely that sighted audiences won’t notice that there is an additional layer. We believe that Macbeth will be a treat for all the senses and the use of creatively integrated audio description will heighten the clarity and atmosphere for everyone.
