Is City Folk the Worst Animal Crossing? #shorts

The Animal Crossing series is one of my personal favorites, these games are beautiful, relaxing, and the perfect escape from reality.

I didn't get into the series until New Leaf on the 3DS, so the first three entries have been a mystery to me, I knew the GameCube one had the NES games, the DS one was that experience but better, and the Wii one was kinda meh.

That seems to be the census, but I wanted to play them for myself to determine if that was actually true, and it is.

In defence of City Folk, we got a shitton of new features that weren’t in Wild World that helped develop the series such as Kick‘s shoes, gyroid storing, pro designs, the introduction of Label (or Labelle as she’s called), the city that inspired main street in new leaf, and the introduction to the ABD. Sure it took a lot of features from Wild World and was most likely an HD version of the game but people forget about the features that were added that were stepping stones into new leaf and new horizons.

And let’s be honest, any animal crossing game is better than amibo festival.

I liked lets go to the city despite it being very similar to wild world, I would say "worst" is a strong word, it's more of the "least nessacary", it isn't an inferior game, just one that didn't need to be released.

It was the best. Though it was stuck on a home console it brings new ideas to the series. It looks better than wild world and is easier to understand, because of the pointer controls.

I mean just because its on a hime console doesnt make it bad look at the gamecube animal crossing, a great experience. I personally enjoy sitting down and playing on a tv

I had no idea so many people considered this onea step back! It makes sense, but considering it was my first AC game and I never played Wild World, it's incredibly nostalgic for me.

Ya but what about the game itself? Besides the mobility, what about the game itself? It is a step up in quality and characters as well as world building. Sure, I agree there isn't as much lore but I still enjoyed the game nonetheless. In fact I love all of the games. I mean as long as you git my fav bois Blathers K.Slider and Tom Nook I'm ready to go.

Weird take: New Horizons is worse.
Total lack of content, lack of charm, lack of… everything. It’s visually beautiful and allows the most control of any AC game but all of that control feels wasted because there’s nothing to do at all. Why landscape or decorate my island if I know there’s nothing to do on it?

In my opinion, city folk was the first one I ever played so back then, it was honestly the best game I played.

I disagree, I think Wild World has aged extremely poorly and is very limiting in a lot of ways. But it still has a lot of good qualities so I very much enjoy having a version of it that I find has fixed most of its flaws and is more accessible.

Personally I think City Folk (lets go to the city) comes third when ranking the games, playing it now is so much more enjoyable to wild world, there really isn't much to do on the original ds game when compared to now. Then again I prefer new leaf to new horizons so maybe I'm crazy
