The same week we're told GM is cutting jobs and closing plants is the same week this Chevy commercial comes out showing happy Chevy employees and their families. Oof, bad timing. Well, what if this Chevy commercial actually told the truth?

Chevy didn't have a problem announcing the closure of 5-6 plants and layoff of 15, 000+ employees right before Christmas though, did they? That kind of decision isn't made loosely over night. It was planned and known about by the Board long before the Christmas season and the airing of this commercial. Deciding to let it air on tv is in very bad taste. Add this bad decision to the growing list of bad decisions by GM executives. I bet they all will receive Christmas bonuses this year for doing such a good job...

I had this exact thought when I saw this commercial. The commercial came out a few days after it was reported that they’d be letting 14, 000 people go. That a great big thank you from the company that got bailed out less than a decade ago.
