Nobody can fault the care that has gone into that shotgun, I think anyone should be pleased to be out in the field carrying it . Thanks for showing, Shoot Straight Stay Safe & Stay Well .

I used to shoot a Baikal in the late 80s that my friend owned. It was a no frills gun, but it shot really well and I had more success with that gun, than one`s worth a lot more money.

I have been shooting a Russian TOZ-34 EP for the last 33 years now, it is simple, reliable, and durable.
I`ve shot hundreds and hundreds of chukars, ducks, rabbits, and foxes...
It is one of the best shotguns has ever been made.

just for you to know Johnny, TOZ is NOT Baikal. TOZ (Tulskii Oružeinõi Zavod) factory is in Tula, Baikal (IŽMash) factory is in Iževsk and they are totally different companies with totally different gun designs. I do own a TOZ-34 and I still hunt with it. Have been born in Soviet Union, now in EU and working in a gun shop. There are plenty of TOZ and IŽ (Baikal) guns here so you can trust my knowledge

I love my Baikal won many of clay shoot with it
46 out of 50
shot the highest partridge on beaters day with it and shot 3 pigeons the very first 3 shots I had with it
when I paid the large sum of £70 for it as a non ejector then turn the screw in the barrels a presto a full ejector and as never Failed to go bang when I pull the trigger unlike my best gun I paid hell of a lot for

Hahaha! "All Russian guns are Baikal!". "Baikal, Baikal, Baikal, Baikal". That clip always gets me bro! 🤣

Current production in TOZ is of a very low quality. The one shown is called Suvenirnoye produced in USSR. Cost about 1 to 1, 5 USD in Russia. If you come across shot guns produced by Tula TSKIB, called MC(МЦ in Russian) during USSR times, they are very very good. They are really cream of the cream not TOZ.

Baikal's are also one of my favorite! I buy everyone I can find.

Do not forget that all Russian guns have interceptors, but on inexpensive Italian guns and on Turkish ones there are none. Safety is the most important thing!

Truly stunning. A timeless beauty with curves in all the right places. You really see those subtle touches of class that set it above the competition. You would turn heads with one of these over your arm.

The gun’s not bad either.

The TOZ isn’t as good as a Baikal because there’s no long bolt to secure the stock to the receiver. If you tighten the trigger guard screws to pinch the loose stock more firmly it changes the geometry of the internals, sears etc, and the gun won’t function right.

Jonny while you at holts can you ask them to take more than one picture for most of their lots. It realy lets them down compared to other cheaper auctions. i know you can speak to them and they can send extra photosbut just seems like a massive waste of time for all. Awesome vid glad you found an awesome russian gun you like i like a lot of them.

I love my "utility" Baikal O/U 12ga. It is an MP27M and has removable chokes. 28.5" barrels with vent rib. Also Baikal marked ventilated recoil pad. Double triggers and extractors. Nice straight grain walnut. Chrome-lined bores. What more could you want?

That's a nice looking gun, but all baikal's even their cheaper models are a solid excellent gun as you can go out in all weather put them down on the ground and just treat them like a tool and you ain't to worried about the scratches etc as they are cheap and does the job, but some can be a bit heavy from some users but then they absorb the recoil well you can't really fault them as built like a tank.

“I do not hate all Russian guns, this one is nice” 🤣 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 As a matter of fact I had two Toz 34E, very nice wood, usually when they come in the box they tend to have a couple of spare “v pins??” since they are prone to break, unlike maybe the spring izh 27. And the ejectors, well, not that reliable. But truth be told I loved how it handled the weight distribution was great. 👀 though wasn’t able to hit any freaking flying target with mine...

Old TOZ shotguns are highly appreciated in Hungary. They shoots really good. Most well know and available models are the external hammer side by sides here (TOZ-63, TOZ-66 and maybe the last external hammer model, the TOZ-54 - no logic in numbering I know).

I don't know how will we use these old guns when all lead shot will be banned by the EU's politicians (UK out of the EU now so you may have or will have different regulations)... :/

TOZ vs IZH: the TOZ guns are somewhat more delicate guns and IZH are somewhat more rugged, generally speaking. But both are well liked, I mean the old ones, especially from the Soviet era (no room for reject back than).
