Here’s a suggestion for a future video: winning points with your push.

Like many I was taught to loop everything you can so that you can avoid being that boring player that just keeps pushing. Because of that I’ve only recently developed aggressive pushing tactics. You can’t always loop or flip. The ball might be coming half-long and low, making you afraid for your knuckles. But you can still play to win rather than just handing the ball back.

Some ideas: push with heavy spin low over the net, push deep to the corners or their crossover point, if it’s short push to extreme angles, push immediately off the bounce, aim one direction and at the last moment switch to the other, wind up for a flip or loop but let the ball drop lower and switch to a late push, sneak in some sidespin especially breaking away from the wings or into the body.

Thanks for the video. Is it possible to make a video cover the six basic strokes you mentioned using the penhold grip?

Lol my "great edit" comment was for this video and I mistakenly gave like and commented on the forehand push video before watching it xd. Anyway, both are nice as usual.

Do you have any technical advice for consistent backhand pushes using Long Pips? I play more pushes using Lp since my backhand uses Lp for Chops

This is rather embarrassing to ask bc I should know the answer but sometimes, when doing the BH push, I find the ball is kind of popping up high and I'm not sure whether I need to make my racquet flatter or less flat.

In fact I'm not even quite sure of the terminology. If I make it flatter, is that "opening" it? (I've always been confused about this). I'd be very grateful for clarification. Thanks
