Bob Marley only if you were still here. I grew up listening to your music was listening to Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Jacob Miller, Yellow Man, Sister Carol and plenty more since being in my mothers womb and all 39 years of my life even though you passed before I was 1 years old To me you always been alive, I listened to your music watched videos of you on stage you were like a part of the family. . My father is American Indian from Salt River Arizona Akimel Oodham Xalchidom Piipaash and Pomo from California, My Mother is Tlingit and Aleut from Sitka Alaska. My father used to put on reggae concerts in Indian Country Yellow Man came to Hopi Land I sat on stage with my lil brother. Another group came to Fort McDowell we were backstage chilling as elementary kids. It was the best child hood I could ask for. My father is a spiritual leader in our community he has spent the last 40 years bringing awareness, keeping cultural traditions alive. I have a lot of respect for everything he does, just as he has respect for all the reggae music artists who spoke on reality of whats going on across the world. Mental Slavery, Violence, Political Warfare we are still going through stuff our so called president Trump who i have no respect for is in the process of cutting funding in education and health care for American Indians after all they have stolen from us and all the people they killed to get their hands on our gold, and other minerals, land and water. They destroy our sacred mountains, burial grounds desecrate the earth, building oil pipelines into the earth across Indian (Native) Country. They made promises to our people and slowly we see those promises and treaties broken as always. This is being done all over the world, land is stolen, people killed and buildings put up over sacred places in the name of greed. Our people as a community are not doing so well. Our language and culture was banned back in the day until it started being brought back but its hard now a days to keep it strong. Our people just like many people have lost their way they are wrapped up in a world that was not meant for us. We are blinded by money, social media, the music that glorifies, guns, drugs and sex. We are losing who we are. There are still people who speak our language but its slowly fading. I wish you were still here or your children could come to our community and speak with us on these issues, maybe have a concert and bring people together and help them to see the genocide has not stopped. Our people were supposed to be extinguished by now that was the real plan they have us where they want us fighting and killing each other and ourselves. Alcoholism, drug abuse, gang violence, depression and suicide is high in our communities. We been losing people left and right since i was little i been to at least 100 funerals who knows. I outlived my oldest brother by 10 years he was shot and killed in Phoenix. Its been a hard long journey as a mother who went through domestic violence and other traumas but no more!. I am doing my best to raise my kids to be proud of who they are keep them around the culture learn what they can. But we all need guidance. I wish there was a way to Unite all people this has been my dream ever since being a little girl singing along to your music. Our people are not much different than yours strong in culture love and being survivors of all the wrong doings. I still have hope and I listen to your music daily especially on bad days. Nothing but love and respect for how you were able to unite people and give us all hope! The ones who have the most powerful messages always seem to leave the world before their time but we will never forget you. I remember being in college and we as a class couldn't agree on what music to play in the darkroom for my photography class. I put on Bob Marley and we all said hell ya that music is what united people of all backgrounds. For anyone out there suffering remember you are not alone in your struggle. There is still hope alive in your soul find it hold onto it let no one take it from You!

Until the philosophy which hold one race superior

And another

Inferior

Is finally

And permanently

Discredited

And abandoned

Everywhere is war -

Me say war.

That until there no longer

First class and second class citizens of any nation

Until the colour of a man's skin

Is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes -

Me say war.

That until the basic human rights

Are equally guaranteed to all,

Without regard to race

Dis a war. ONE DAY WE WILL BE AT PEACE!! W.C. ONE LOVE
