Hello, My name is Paula. I am 73 years old. I played the piano, flute, Soprano, treble, and alto recorder. I became ill, and partially disabled in right shoulder. I donated my instruments to a church and a school district. Later I missed it. I just purchased recorders this time. I am not a professional; far from it. I had a handful of lessons and then self taught. We moved during COVID, and the moving packers lost the ones I was going to bring with me. A keyed alto and Soprano. My favorite is the alto. I recently found this NUVO Soprano recorder. Love the keys. I was having trouble with C# D flat, and D # E flat. When purchasing I was given no real instruction material. I received the fingering chart. Playing sharps and flats were not easy with the way the fingering chart said. When I saw your video; I cheered. I immediately took out the black insert dots. Not as easy as you showed. 🤪 I would appreciate any other information you may have. I wish they did make an alto recorder with keys. All their instruments are in C . I like the deep mellow sound of an alto. Not one that is also a C recorder. I am very happy finding this tidbit of information. If you have anything else you can share, I would appreciate it. I hope you can contact me from this.

When playing it side by side with a plastic yamaha series 300 it is a stark contrast, the Nuvo sounds very plasticky and shrill. Ok, I'm comparing it with top of the range plastic recorders, but to me even the yamaha 20, that ivory one that everyone seems to have, sounds better 😕 I don't know why they missed the mark with the recorders.
The flutes and little saxophones sound pretty good.
(Sigh)😔
