The Boeing 767 was Boeing's first wide-body twinjet, powered by General Electric CF6, Rolls-Royce RB211, or Pratt & Whitney JT9D turbofans. The JT9D engines were eventually replaced by PW4000 engines.
It was produced in three fuselage lengths: The 48.5m (159ft) 767-200 with 216 passengers seats over 7.200 km (3.900 nmi), while the 767-200ER seats 181 passengers over a 12.200km (6.590 nautical miles) range. The 54.9 m (180ft) 767-300 seats 269 passengers over 7.200km (3.900 nmi), while the 767-300ER seats 218 with a range of 11.070km (5,980nmi). The 767-300F can carry up to 52.7 tonnes (116.00lb) over 6.025km (3.225 nmi). The 767-400ER variant 61.37m (201.3ft) typically seats 245 passengers over 10.415km (5.625 nmi). Passenger 767-200s and 737-300s have been modified for cargo use as the Special Freighter (SF) and the Precision Converted Freighter (PCF).
The passenger version of the Boeing 767 is still flying today. But is becoming more as airlines outside the US replace them with more fuel efficient aircraft. Boeing is still producing the Boeing 767 since 1981! After 1985 the ETOPS certification was given to the Boeing 767 it was and is still used frequently on transatlantic routes. The Boeing 767-400s are only operated by American carriers like Delta and United who still use them today. Winglets where fitted to reduce the drag on the wings and save fuel(costs).
