from vienna you should come to brno and then head to prague. you are gonna love it, brno christmas market of cause is smaller than viennas but is super cute trast me.

Bigger Christmas markets are not always better, especially when
1. it gets too crowded to enjoy the stalls
2. all stalls sell the same mass-produced goods instead of local handcrafts.

There are also many smaller, cozier markets in small towns/castles/forests/lakeside/mountains, which you could try to mix in for your trip

My wife and I are heading to Vienna and Salzburg in 2 weeks for the Christmas markets. Were all the Markets in Vienna open? How was the selection of hand crafted ornaments.
