Coffee & Quasars | Short Film with Virtual Production and UnReal

A commander tries to control the fleet, eagerly waiting for their morning caffeine hit. And a young ensign on their first day tries to make coffee for the first time.
A simple story about coffee and spaceships.

Based on a TRUE STORY. Well the story part is true, the spaceship part is fabricated.

We had 3 days, no budget, a handful of talented actors and a big idea. It was a lot of fun going to space.

Cast:
Annie Lindner as Chief
Shabana Azeez as Rookie
Tim Phillipps as Co-pilot

Shot on location in The Void at the Flinders University of South Australia. After a heap of R&D into Unreal and the VP tech we were excited to really put it through it's paces in a production environment. This was our first real hands on chance using LED wall technology alongside UnReal Engine to create live virtual backgrounds as seen in television productions like The Mandalorian.

For those Lucy and DiC 'heads out there we haven't forgotten...cue multiple 'when is Season 2 coming?' in the comments section. We have not forgotten and will not stop trying to get more Lucy and DiC made! A few little snippets to come but rest assured we our working hard to bring some more significant Lucy and DiC times to life :)

Definitely a Lucy and Dic vib, esp the style of humour though a bit (just slightly) more subtle. Felt for the characters and though very short, it held up as a very mini movie. Would like to see more storyline of this, I think it could be a very interesting short clip series.
