President Jimmy Carter's Faith and Hometown Roots

Studio 5 sits down with Andrew Greer, a singer/songwriter, who had the opportunity to lead President Carter and his wife in worship in their hometown of Plains. He talks about the faith of the former president, and the power of God in his life. Greer is also a filmmaker who had the opportunity to interview President Carter near the end of his life to talk about rational issues in Plains. It's part of a Greer's documentary titled "Plainspoken" where he explores the history of Plains, GA. He says President Carter is a hero of his both because of his strong faith is Jesus and because of his pursuit of bringing people together from all ethic backgrounds.

I don't really know what's appropriate to say ... but it has always troubled me at the thought at the phrase "evangelical Christian " was placed upon him. How many people may have been kept at a distance from Jesus and think all Christians share his view?
And to me, the entire situation in the Middle East today is the rotten fruit of his views and policies. As he was growing older and older, I prayed much for him to repent of his unbiblical positions, especially on Israel and abortion. Sadly, I see no evidence that ever happened, but only God knows the truth about him.
If there was a list of modern rulers described like the kings of Israel/Judah, do you think he'd be one lauded as someone who did right in the eyes of the Lord?
