Attribuzioni Safri Duo:

Uffe Savery and Morten Friis met in 1977 when they attended the Tivoli Garden Boys' Guard, and later, at the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music formed an experimental duo, whose name was derived from the first letters of their surnames: Savery and Friis. Under this name Savery and Friis released six albums between 1990 and 1998, mostly adaptations for percussion of classical pieces by Bach, Chopin and others. Their talent did not go unnoticed and in 1999 the duo obtained a contract with the Danish Universal Music.

Initially oriented towards contemporary music, in 1999 they were discovered by a record company that operated on that genre. After being hired, they began to work mixing percussion and electronic music.

In early 2000, a single called "Played-A-Live" (better known as "The Bongo Song") began to appear in club playlists. Produced by Michael Parsberg, he soon arrives on MTV Europe. It is a mix between bongo and trance music that turns out to be a success and becomes, despite the little commercial genre, one of the best-selling singles in Europe. Also in Italy, she became popular and became the acronym of the Total Request Live broadcast on the MTV Italia television channel.

In 2001, Safri Duo are invited to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 and at Trance Energy.

In 2003 the new album 3.0 was released, with the participation of Clark Anderson on vocals in several songs, including "All the People in the World", "Agogo Mosse" and "Laarbasses". The single "Rise" becomes a huge success and is then released a new version called "Rise (Leave Me Alone)" with the same Clark Anderson.

In 2004 he released a remix of the 3.0 album called 3.5 - International Version, which includes the new version of "Rise" and several other songs, as well as remixes of previous songs.

On November 17, 2008 the band's ninth album entitled Origins was released, consisting of percussions accompanied by ambient atmospheres.

In 2010, Safri Duo released the single from the sonorous house Helele, with the voice of the South African singer Velile. The song is broadcast on German and Swiss television during the 2010 World Soccer Championship played in South Africa, and included in the compilation Greatest Hits, released in the same year.

I'm so glad I can still remember my childhood and the songs from that time, otherwise I wouldn't have rediscovered this gem. I think it's a shame that songs like this get forgotten among the mainstream junk that's in the charts these days
